I think most patrons come to Westworld to play GTA with codes on. Sure the game has a plot, but doing car stunts and beating up prostitutes is far more enjoyable. The MiB is playing the deeper, Bethesda style, game - except he's bored and has decided to start going to mod route.
The other tech actually scolds the dude for just washing the synths down (which we later see) instead of properly cleaning them up. Like the failed AC unit in ep 1, this could speak to money issues with West World, or a general malaise among the people that keep it running, not dissimilar to how amusement parks are…
The techs noted the last two issue occurred over thirty years ago, which would be when the original movie was released. I'm calling it same world many years later.
Early on in season 5 of Madmen, possibly when Don pushes the body under the bed, I thought, "Wow this show just crossed the line into a French art house movie."
The reveal this season and the identity of Mr Robot last season aren't twists. Based on interviews from season 1, Sam meant for it to be obvious. In season 1 the twist was Darlene as the sister. As for this season, I expect something soon. Either way, it's a bit like True Detective, by looking for the mystery you're…
The guys over at The Watch podcast on The Ringer actually tossed out the idea that Angela or Dom are the protagonists for the season, as Eliot is off dealing with his situation. I agree and think it's a pretty awesome pivot.
When WASN'T Sting betrayed by his allies!?
You should read his comic the Metabarons - it's basically a lot of the Dune work with serial numbers filed off and the names changed. It's batshit and awesome.
Seeing as we've seen both Waiting for Godot and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead this season, it read to me as the anger of an angry agnostic yelling at a God that isn't present.
The issue, as I see it, is Dawn in the most famous sword in the books, but I don't recall it ever being mentioned on the show. Dual wielding and making quick work of five men is more better at showing Dayne to be a badass and required far less exposition.
Almost like this was a trope of Miller's run and was satirized in the 80s http://www.thetick.ws/tickc…
…and found the SF dweller.
I'll agree that Always Sunny lacking any accolades it a bad thing, but for animated series, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, and even Star VS the Forces of Evil still rank higher than Rick n Morty in my book, and I enjoy the show. Hell, Venture Bros would still best it, despite its infrequency.
To be fair, Mr Robot, at it's core is a family drama. Also, NOMAAM :fsociety LOL
Well since you asked… https://www.youtube.com/wat…
Keep in mind that season one was act one of the original screenplay. The endgame and key beats are already planned - it's the details in between that are being written now.
Considering season one was originally the first act of his screen play, the padding was most likely the Fight Club elements. Moroever, I don't know a single person that was surprised - it wasn't the reveal. The sister was the reveal.
I said it upthread, but seriously, the open with World Destruction is probably the most on point use of a song in a TV show. WOW!
Holy hell that opening credit sequence. There has never been, nor will there ever be, a more perfect use of Timezone's World Destruction.
