Sure, but it wasn't done very theatrically. The whole scene was something we knew was coming, done so obviously. And it just wasn't cool!

I wish they'd stop trying so hard to make Kuvira look bad. Because you only need a few subtle things to know Kuvira is bad. But so is Raiko's plan for the Earth Kingdom, obviously.

They really did a great job of completely fucking dampening the impact of Kuvira's announcement, huh? A few cheers from the audience, merely concerned looks thrown around, and all for something we basically knew was going to happen, done in probably the least imaginative way possible.

I'm really glad that the "THERE'S MORE POISON INSIDE YOU" plot point wasn't as stupid as it sounded (Korra's solution being physical instead of emotional would have been so dumb) and, in fact, resulted in Toph slighting her daughters, which is great. More of Toph talking smack about her daughters, please.

What if Yoda said shit like "get over yourself"?

No one, NO ONE, ever hit Toph. Korra is no Toph.

The scene on the island reminded me of, what else, Space Jam.

this is some scott pilgrim shit

I think there are one or two episodes of TLA better than "Zuko Alone" ("The Beach" is my personal favorite), but yeah, no way is "Korra Alone" better than Zuko alone. Korra's journey is more complex, but even without the flashbacks, the story in "Zuko Alone" is completely heartbreaking.

Yeah, but holy fuck, they let us think that she was possibly fighting in pits for MONTHS for a week. Still fucked up.

"But Korra, not ready are you."

aw yeahhhh

This is an episode almost entirely unlike what Korra has been able to do before, with one exception*.

The entire Avatar story might as well revolve around Toph.

because the leader of a capitalist society that's quietly imperialistic would be just such an amazing thing to demonize

"Korra for me is another tropey plot, the down and out hero/fighter"

he's still SO wrong about zaheer ugh i hate it

More Earthbending Villain Via Control. It's always control.

"These bandits aren't stealing for survival. If they were they would be equal opportunity and the surrounding villages shouldn't have enough to share."

Thank you. Love for Zaheer.
