You’re right with your last line. The difference is (as someone who lived in Spain for 6 years) that the cap-less, super team-esque, soccer in Spain is embedded in the culture of the sport. Every year its a battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona, but it’s also exciting to see if teams like Atletico will overtake

Thanks Mr. Useless.

One of the coolest effects of the bandwagon fandom can be seen overseas. I oft-travel to the Philippines, it’s one of my favorite countries in the world and is one that loves basketball. Eight years ago, when you walked through the markets of tiny villages on some southern Filipino island, you’d see handmade

Agreed. Like, Bettman’s entire “legacy” is built around the fact that he tried to move teams and/or expand teams into unconventional hockey markets like Carolina, Phoenix, Nashville, etc. This is the main reason he’s booed and hated by every NHL fan. Why the fuck, if anything, would’nt he try to fix it so the Preds

How many basketball players shoot the ball in after the whistle, just for fun? Do those baskets count? That’s not how it works in sports...

Have you ever watched a sport in your life?

Absolutely, could not agree more. To all the morons calling Crosby a bitch or dirty, trying going to an actual game and watching the action behind the play, where the puck is not - AKA where the camera isn’t focused. This shit is done by practically every player on every shift. The difference is they don’t have a

If you happened to watch last night on CBC, Don Cherry did a mini-segment on how Crosby just skates away from the shit he takes like 95% of the time. I know Cherry is a biased, incoherent buffoon most of the time, but he’s often right too.

It’s beside the point, but Bud isn’t the best selling beer in the world. It’s fourth according to most stats.

If anyone wants to watch a semi-realistic film about how fucked up Millwall fans are, watch “Green Street Hooligans”.

Regardless, my point remains.

If a player display that they want to leave, I don’t understand why the team would want to force them to stay? Like, if you’re going to force me to stay, do you really think I’m going to try, or that I’m going to give it my all? I may be stubborn, but I’d probably try to fuck them over.

PFF WRONG! If there were no guns then people would just have guns or axes or some shit!

I scrolled down at first so that the first line of your comment was half cut off horizontally at the top of my page. At first I thought you said “I hate [racist word for black people starting with the letter ‘n’]. Oops.

Honestly though, since the breathalyzer showed no alcohol, it’s plausible he took some regular meds that didn’t mix well. Then started feeling woozy while driving, he swerved and hit the curb hard enough to flatten his tires, then was like oh, shit I better pull over before I pass out.

Kesler*. I’m not trying to be a nitpicking dick, it’s just a really big difference between general hatred levels ;).

I sent the link to this article to my half-Japanese girlfriend and I’ve never received such a long “LOLOLOLOL[...]” in a single text as a response.

This highlight video literally looks like me in grade 11 when I played my one and only year of organized basketball, only because my parents said they’d only buy me a new pair of skates if I picked up another sport (since I quit soccer). I could dribble fine just from messing around in PE or on the street, but I had

I have to respectively disagree. I think there’s as much story as any other final. The best player of this generation is in the finals - again! They’re playing a team who has been good for so long and now has FINALLY made it this far. It’s an offensive vs defensive based battle, which I always find more exciting.

I think they’re awesome, especially considering none of my teams really had any impact in them. The only reason I want them to end sooner is because I have other more important things I need to be doing after work, but they playoffs are taking priority!
