I have read from people that work in mobile game development that whales go above just this.  They spend literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on a game in a short span of time.  It sounds like he is not really a whale in that sense, but I guess we don’t know the full history of his spending with games.  But to

I personally have been having a horrid time with button-mashing. It’s my first beat-’em-up I’ve played in decades, the first one I’ve really dedicated more than a couple minutes to. I think I had 2 game overs in the second episode, and it only got worse from there.

Wait, I thought the “Part I” was just bringing it in line with how Last of Us Part II is a thing.  Sort of like how when A New Hope came out, it was just called Star Wars.  But when Episode V came out, they retroactively affixed a number to the other one, then being Star Wars Episode IV.  I didn’t think it was “Part

I racked my brain trying to figure it out, actually. And even after these responses, I feel like it’s still a stretch to argue that. It’s just a weird thing to say, and I’m not convinced. I apologize, as everyone is trying very hard to convince me. And I’m usually very good at looking at both sides and assessing

“Even as a free player, you’re indirectly contributing to other people’s financial ruin.”

I think the most likely scenario is that they are focusing so much on the fighting that this mode will feel like an afterthought. At worst, the mode will be one of those things that people look at and say, “Meh... that was pretty janky and weird, but at least Capcom prioritized the fighting mechanics.”

It’s not petty... Maybe it’s just because I’ve been familiar with the institution and studied French for 11 years, but I have a respect for them. Yes language is meant to be fluid and evolutionary, and this sort of process stunts that growth. But I respect their ideology. It’s not like this is the first time they’ve

The Mind Meld, a Jedi’s most important ability

I’ve heard about developers doing this in a lot of games. Something about a useless chicken gun in Crysis, not being able to glide in Arkham Asylum, that sort of stuff. But how does the game know that it’s a pirated version? What stops a legitimate copy from behaving in this way? Is there not a way to fix the pirated

This is great news for those that enjoyed the first one, but I really wanted to see what kind of new stuff Kojima had in store.

Why would it be bad for Cone Kirby to be elected?  He just wants to eat and be happy.  The world would heal if he were president.

I believe fake nails / long nails are just a preference for some people.  It makes them feel better about their appearance and is seen as a beauty attribute.  I never got the impression it was some signal that “[they] are so cared for that [they] don’t actually have to do [their] own cooking...”  That seems like a

I have sympathy to an extent. But I was really not comfortable when she used a couple seconds to look at her camera and make a YouTube thumbnail face. That’s precious time that could have been used to try and figure this out. Not that she would have figured it out without yelling for her neighbors to help.

If I’m not wrong, Ubisoft’s screw-up with it was when it first came out.  They released it as a disappointing game that was looking to be dead in the water, but over time they have turned it around and it’s still on a roll.  So I think they did heck it up, it was just that they improved on that heck-up!

Okay, I know the implications are that Call of Duty is oversaturated and released yearly, and the legal issues around Activision Blizzard... but the other Call of Duty games have all been doing very well. And regarding the legal issues, yes we are aware of them and some of us are boycotting, but the vast majority of

I’m very concerned about this one as it is Free-to-play. We haven’t seen that Disney racing game yet, so I don’t know if the console F2P stuff will be different, but I’ve been around the block with Disney’s F2P games on mobile... and it’s bad. There’s one game where the only way to get a certain character is to pay

Thank you for this. What makes me uncomfortable is when people gatekeep at what age you are supposed to stop enjoying something. I appreciate your humorous rebuttal!
