so what’s your plan?

tell them why they are lies. As many times as it takes, and as kindly as you absolutely can.

I did vote for the person who was going to do that. And I’m tired of compromising. I’ve compromised in every election since I was old enough to vote.

First off, because you want to bring this up, I’m not a Trump voter. I’m a Jill Stein voter. I practice kindness and empathy because it keeps that dark little imp in the back of the head that makes me hate myself at bay.

not a zero-sum game. And I’m not even a Trump voter. Just someone who practices empathy, and kindness, even to people whom I disagree with.

Ask me a question about whether or not I was honest with myself about why I wasn’t voting for Hillary Clinton. I say, yes I was. Explain why I thought she was corrupt and yet another neo-liberal in a far too long line of them.

No. Jill Stein was my vote. I would have been happy beyond words voting for Elizabeth Warren. If there was a female economic populist and progressive, I would have voted for her.

Ok. I was paying you a compliment on your typing skill, and you took it as a chance to throw a snide little shot my way. Cool

One: How did you type all that? Did you use like some speech-to-text software? Goodness gracious.

Obama knew the Republicans were trying to fuck him, and he still tried to compromise instead of going to the American people and telling them the truth: They care about winning brownie points more than about you.

WHY NOT BOTH? Why does it have to be a zero-sum game?

Here is the response I gave to friends and family who supported Trump, people I loved and who loved their little bi-racial grandbaby or uncle.

Because a lot of people do. All you have to do is hit the angry, not the racists and the xenophobes, with something that tells them you hear them and you understand. Not that you agree with the anger, but that you understand where it comes from.

Did I say it didn’t? I said stuff, bad stuff, is happening everywhere. And trying to make this a competition doesn’t help.

You can talk to some of them. You can’t talk to all of them. HRC tried to talk to NONE of them.

Why not both? Why not, for instance, this exact response:
