Yes. I believe it represented James' sexual frustration when his wife was in the hospital. That's why you see Pyramid Head "rape" one in that horrific scene. Brilliant scene. All it is, is humping with clothes on, but the mind is horrified and fills in the blanks.

Hideo Kojima loves to do throwback levels (Anyone remember the MGS 4 level where you play Shadow Moses again?).

Silent Hill 2 is the best horror game ever made. It also is possibly the best game ever at using symbolism and portraying complex themes (especially the sexual ones).

They should have kept it a AAA game like when they revealed it at E3. Could have been the spiritual successor to Disaster Report.
