Not really no. The present timeline finally goes somewhere at the end but it can really be summarized by one or two sentences. There is a connection (hint hint, old characters), but the story progression is pretty minimal most of the way.

The first Silent Hill is actually pretty solid if you give it a chance. If the studio hadn't messed with the script so much it might have been a great film.

Very underrated film. I like the film's original ending better though.

I'm interested in the game, but if they wanted to do another licensed game I would have loved to see them do a Star Trek, X-Files, or hell even a gonzo Twin Peaks game. Borderlands is probably the least interesting universe in science fiction right now.
