You don’t need that giant contraption, just the standalone “brewer” for $40 or so (my wife scored me one for $28), a pack of $8 filters (100 count), hot water and ground coffee.

My wife picked me up a Chemex for Christmas, I had been wanting a simple way to make a good cup (never replaced a decimated French press). During the week, we’re usually on the run, so we use a Keurig, convenient, but only decent.

There are some cars that require 101% attention on a good day, on track with controlled conditions, with every component working perfectly - factor in the unknown dynamics of the street (vs. a track) and the possibility of old/dry tires (I haven’t cross checked the report yet), too much…
