Clarification: Are you referring to Donald Sterling or David Stern? Could be either (or both).

Wow. The exploding house video went better than this did.

Anybody else want to see Sterling receive the trophy from Silver? Just for the awkwardness, I mean.

Yep. He's a special-teamer. Too much of a "tweener", especially on a team with a defense that deep.

One of the ongoing sports mysteries (at least for me) is why Mexico, with a population of 120 million people and an affinity for baseball, produces so few MLB players, relatively speaking.

I agree. That's my point.

I'm saying: A white person (Wise) telling non-white people how they should feel (here, about music lyrics, there, about "Redskins").

You do know that Wise is the biggest anti-"Redskins" writer this side of Dave Zirin, right?

I can't stand it when white sportswriters weigh in on non-white issues (unless it's one of Wise's countless columns on the evils of the "Redskins" nickname).

Ideas about being "classy" are vestiges of an era when old, white men had control of every aspect of our society. It's just another word for oppression.

Tidbit in the article I didn't realize: Did Francesa really imply after 9/11 that Jews were to blame, and that American Jews were disloyal? Or was that just a nonsensical Mushnick accusation / exaggeration?

To the Googlemobile!!!

If he died, it would be the best possible outcome for the NBA. He has a good case against the league if (when) they try to strip him of ownership. At a minimum, the case would be tied up in court for years.

I have to say that I still love having the discs. No worries about intermittent HQ streaming. No need for an internet connection at all. Also, yes, some occasional bonus features worth watching.

Plus, on a primitive level, there's just something satisfying about being able to flip through a big album full of

I was just saying "Virginia" in that I don't know about other states for sure (I'm in VA, obviously).

Most of the places that reclassify are basketball factories that are, in fact, less academically rigorous (or at least no more rigorous) than many of the public schools these kids come from, at least in the Richmond

This happens all the time in basketball in Virginia, when top public school players get recruited by private schools and "reclassified." So, that all-state sophomore is suddenly a sophomore again the following season when he moves over to a basketball-factory private school.

I think what MADE it is that I threw out "dumb," then doubled back and punctuated it with "idiots!" Quite a one-two punch!

Racism is almost literally everywhere, and the only people dumb enough to believe otherwise are Fox-News-watching conservative idiots.

The most depressing part of this depressing story is that the year 2000 is appropriately prefaced with "way back in . . . "

. . . because of James Franco's empty, actively bored performance . . .
