This obviously kicks ass. Ever since I got my first taste of Peace Walker as part of the HD Collection, I've wanted to see the transition of Big Boss from "good guy" to "bad guy" (although anyone familiar with the themes of the MG series know that those terms are more or less relative). As a bonus, I realized that

That's a really good point. Technically, the player didn't "advance" the ball, he, uh . . . "retreated" it? Never seen anything like this on a punt.

Hear, hear. I'll stick to Madden.

My favorite part of the "Extra Innings" version of this story at Boston-dot-com (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2012/08/report_kelly_sh.html?camp=misc:on:twit:sox) was the closing line: "Shoppach is now with his fourth team in fourth years," with the obvious and heavy implication of

"NBC's presentation is rightfully criticized for its focus on American athletes and ignorance of other countries . . . "

"Awnt" is correct. I am proud to be on such a list!

I don't like that he's one of those people who pronounces "aunt" as "ant." I mean, I would never vote for him, anyway, but this is another black mark against his name.

+1. NFL officials are generally quite good. Compare that to MLB (decent, but inconsistent and occasionally awful) or the NBA (pretty bad, and often simply overmatched).

Congratulations to Gabby Douglas. Sidebar: Will NBC get any flak for running a promo for a (sure-to-be-terrible) show that featured a monkey performing gymnastics immediately following Gabby's medal ceremony and interview?!?

Pedroia just dropped a huge f-bomb after almost hitting a three-run shot in the sixth against the Yankees. The ESPN guys (esp. Francona) had a good chuckle about it, which was nice.

It's hard to believe this wasn't on purpose. Yikes.

It's nice to see that Chik-fil-A has now been definitively exposed as the hate organization that it is, one that donates generously to other hate groups such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. People who cry, "It's just a sandwich," don't understand that progressive principles should always trump base,

Slade's "Run, Run Away" + Real-life equivalent of Calvinball = Win

Then I take it back - Preach on, Tim McCarver. No apology necessary.

I'm not sure I follow. What I was saying is that McCarver seemed to think that a charity organization like Locks of Love would be "buying" hair, rather than receiving donations to give to cancer patients.

"Sell" them to charity?

The idea that African-Americans are better at basketball than Jewish-Americans is just as inaccurate and offensive as his assertion that there are more funny men than there are funny women. People shouldn't be allowed to have these ideas or say these things.

(LAUGHS)
