That’s my feeling too. It’s not like you can pick any Pokemon you want at the start anyway. Some are gated in higher level areas and some are only tradeable into the game from other versions, so if they end up getting everyone in there eventually via expansions or whatever else then I’m cool with it.

I’m not sure if the lack of screaming this generation is just because GameFreak learned their lesson last time and aren’t broadcasting that the National Dex isn’t in there, or because the fans have just quieted down in the past few years.

I’m not a Genwunner or anything, but this set of Pokemon lines up with basically all of the generations as far as I can remember in that I only really like maybe 25% of the designs and the rest are fine or forgettable. I think maybe the first two gens (largely due to nostalgia) and Sun and Moon are the only exceptions…

In terms of matching regional expectations, I think 7-Eleven Japan is still just a convenience store, but compared to America they have a much wider selection of products and services.
Not sure there really is a proper American equivalent. Not unless you can find a 7-Eleven that’ll sell you Final Fantasy VII Rebirth…
