The other problem of the Black List is that it was originally - or at least sold itself as - a list of scripts that everyone loved to read that were not set up anywhere, thus giving some deserving scripts/writers a little PR boost.

This is great — something the “old” AVClub would do. While certainly people have been thinking about this performance lately for obvious reasons, I don’t think most of us really stopped to think about the actor himself (I didn’t even know his name) and how he got to play Napoleon.

I really didn’t read it anti-semitic. I am surprised at this kerfuffle as her comments seem pretty mild and measured. Susan Sarandon on the other hand, definitely anti-semitic. Tankies like her are always like that.

You can be supportive of innocent civilians on both sides. Not all Israeli citizens support their government. Not all Palestinians support or are part of Hamas.

Both Hamas and the Israeli government are committing atrocities against civilians. This is not a simple situation where you can just support one side.

She didn’t say she supports Hamas. She says she is against Palestinian civilians being killed which you appear to be very much in favor of.

While Paulson isn’t exactly known for her comic chops, don’t blame her. The show was a gigantic misfire on just about every level. Insisting that Harriet was some sort of next-level Lucille Ball-level comic genius was just about the only thing funny about the character, since we never, ever saw a glimpse of it.
