There have been reports that they fell out over money and there has been some “blame” put on Oher’s wife. I suspect his wife was the first person to be like “hey, how come you didn’t get x, y and z” and helped to spur on him discovering all of this.

We’ll have to see what the Tuohys say in their defense, but it does sound pretty wrong that they’ve been claiming they adopted him but never did - and especially if he was already a legal adult at the time. He didn’t need to do a conservatorship to negotiate his cut of the movie revenue, and they could have just…
Something about this just doesn’t sit right with me. I mean, when have affluent white Christians ever been known to exploit people they think are lesser than them for the sake of their own egos and financial gain?
Ctrl+F ‘Zoolander’ brings no results in an article about Will Ferrell playing the bad guy?
I kind of get her point though especially the “but could we have an ad during the baseball playoffs?” question. Maybe men didn’t/don’t go see women in action movies because they’re not advertised as being “for men”, whatever that means.
Meanwhile the real star of the ArrowVerse, Caity Lotz, is on the picket line
He’s probably pissed because he can’t promote his which I get, but he’s still wrong as hell.
It defeats the purpose of a boycott to continue boycotting people who’ve already agreed to your requests like the producers of these movies have.
Exactly. If MRC is heeding SAG-AFTRA rules, then they SHOULD be producing films! They’ll be making movies and earning money while the big studios can’t.
Yes, and framing like this doesn’t help:
>A lot of actors forced into a strike
Sarah Silverman is a dumbass who doesn’t understand that these projects were approved because they already meet the standards that SAG-AFTRA requested. The goal of the strike isn’t to stop movies from being made because we hate movies, it’s to hurt big companies pockets by halting their productions until they fix how…
Some time between The Nice Guys and when Master & Commander became cool.
Remember when the A.V. Club used to do deep dives into like the 2000's Midwest punk scene and there’d be like 500 comments?
Captain Marvel was also notoriously review bombed so that is a weird example to use here anyhow.
Except Black Adam is, at best, a C-list villain with a history tied to the same wizard as Captain Marvel (which is also established in the film). Might as well give Bizarro his own movie. Shazam 2 likely would have benefited from The Rock’s presence, whose own Black Adam movie could have benefited from having already e…
I couldn’t be bothered to look up the others, but Captain Marvel has a 79% Critics score vs. 45% audience. Regardless, audience scores are worse than useless due to review bombing, or otherwise gaming the system.
The same thing happens in Hamilton (and many other plays/musicals)! Lafayette bows out at intermission and the same actor plays Jefferson.
Imagine trying to watch Monty Python or the Kids in the Hall with this sort of phobia
I quite like it in a mixed-anthology show like Miracle Workers, where the same group of actors all play different characters in every season. It makes it feel sort of like a repertory troupe having fun, and the actors all get a real chance to develop a strong rhythm with each other.
