I’m not sure the Bayer thing really applies though because this would be the equivalent of Bayer telling a newspaper columnist to stop using the word Bayer when recommending people use Bayer aspirin in their column.

I mean, if we’re poking holes in Back to the Future, there are plenty to play with. Like, what the hell are the (newly successful) adult Dave and Linda doing eating breakfast at their parents’ house on a Saturday morning, when their parents are off playing tennis? What the hell job does Dave have where he’s wearing a

I saw Go on VHS, but to be honest I had completely forgotten both that Go existed and that I have seen it until you mentioned it just now.

There’s probably lots of people who are looking at your graph and thinking “old man yells at cloud” jokes, but this aligns fairly well with how I view these seasons too. I distinctly remember watching “Summer of 4 ft 2" when it first aired (end of season 7) and thinking how great an episode it was, and how the season

I make a lot of graphs.

“Why, station by station, it seems to form a track all the way to my house!”

The main difference is that one of them may never get convicted.

I keep trying to recommend your post but I can’t see it happening.  So I just want to say again what you said:  Check out DeadSet

Already been done. Dead Set had the UK version of Big Brother become the last refuge from a zombie apocalypse. It was written by Charlie Brooker of Black Mirror fame.

Ok, so let’s turn that observation around and say, “we need better, cheaper, more accessible healthcare in the US. And we need nationalized paid sick leave” It seems very weird to throw that frustration at an online entertainment site and not the failure of our current and continual systemic government. That’s VERY

I love ‘Memento’, but I still though that tag was brilliant. Jake is just too shocked/angry to respond, and Pimento is unfazed. It’s beautiful.

Now playing

I’m sorry, but whenever the B-plot came up, all I found think of was this:

And this show had a low-key reminder that, even while “a bit much,” Charles is also good at his job: watching him tackle the escaping doctor, and then expertly getting him on his front, and handcuffing him quickly was gold.

The conflict seminar guy being Rebecca’s stalker from Crazy Ex Girlfriend was a nice touch. I totally imagine her as his conflict loving ex.

Yes, I was going to ask why method actors only do method when they’re playing assholes. I thought if it went the other way around, does that mean that Tom Hanks was the nicest man on the planet for the months when he was playing Mr. Rogers? Of course, that’s a trick question since he seems to be that guy in real life

Personally, for the ‘I don’t need a man!’ ending to land, I needed to see that Rebecca had a chance at love. She had her pick of guys - men who had grown and evolved like she had - and instead she walked away from that because she wasn’t ready.

He is great in second season of Fargo. I think is comedy chops help him in that show too. It is obviously not a sitcom and is fairly dramatic, but something about it’s rhythm and pace feel like a comedy. I think it is why they cast so many comedic actors. You have Goldberg, Odenkirk, Key & Peele, Stephen Root, Hanks,

I also think he showed some non-sitcom chops in the second season of Fargo.  And Bored to Death is seems to be woefully underappreciated these days.

Doesn’t CXG end with Rebecca explicitly not choosing a guy and pledging to remain single while she works on her own mental health?

This was really beautiful. I went back and forth during the fist part on whether or not we’d get a glimpse of what happened when they stepped through the door, and I think I came down on hoping we didn’t. The show has dropped a lot of easter eggs for The Leftovers (which didn’t really give us a concrete explanation of
