He gives all the money to his artists, because he’s aware that simply refusing to sell would deprive them of needed income and he’s not willing to make other people suffer financially for his moral stances. But he doesn’t profit by these, and if it was up to him they would never be made.

1) Gibbons got all the money from Watchmen, Lloyd got all the money from V for Vendetta, Campbell got all the money from From Hell. Alan Moore does not take money.

Except Moore doesn’t “enjoy the checks”, he very publicly refuses to accept any money for these adaptations and refuses to do any kind of publicity. Seems fair to me.
