“A rare mistake on the technical side?” SNL has been plagued with technical issues in recent years. Missed camera cues, sound issues, cue card mistakes. The camera coming into view was not the least bit surprising.

see who the union negotiations with the post production workers who passed an authorization for a potential strike

In an unexpected twist, this SNL really made me want to see Michael B Jordan as a horror movie villain. Like Killmonger was already an all-time great Marvel villain, but there’s another more unsettling performance there.

Not a swipe at her personally, but it helps to be ungodly rich and unburdened with many of the life stressors the rest of us face.

Her being 85 years old is wild to me. I’ve never encountered an 85 year old ever who has anything resembling the level of energy on display in the 80 For Brady trailer. I’m not saying it’s false it’s just.... shocking.

Well yeah, I’m pretty sure that all those movies have been out long enough at this point that they can’t claim that they would be more profitable having never existed.

It would be awesome if TCM could launch a streaming service (or have a more substantial presence than their so-so hub in HBO Max.) It’s the one thing I really miss since I dropped my cable package years and years ago, especially since they still regularly have films that are otherwise nearly impossible to see anywhere

I just moved a few years ago to a place where we pretty much have to have cable/internet etc. Which is fine, we can afford it, and I’ve found out that...

I adore Noir Alley, watch it every week

Until they develop a time machine and convince Warner of the 1940s that it would be better for tax reasons not to release Casablanca and other classic films.

This is great to hear, but I’m curious how stable the ground is under TCM. I’m not smart enough to figure out how profitable it is, but it sounds like a big part of its longevity is that it both brings in enough money and that enough important people personally enjoy it. I wonder how much of its existence is owed to

And the impression I get is that TCM and the adjacent Warner Archive have been pretty steady, reliable earners for them.  It’s all their IP, so they generate good revenue with very little up front investment.

Oh thank god.  The thought of someone messing with TCM is unthinkable.  So long as Noir Alley and Eddie Mueller stick around, I'll be somewhat content with life.

In terms of comparing Blade to many superhero films both DC and MCU, some before Avengers: Endgame, and some after, Blade 1 and Blade 2 (debatable to some) are better than those. That being said, Blade was R rated. It was intended to be R rated, so they had more flexibility to do things both in language, violence,

Yep. Well, aside from “the government shouldn’t provide services or collect taxes of any kind.”

I kinda wish they’d go back to having no policy ideas because as more MAGAs get real office, they have some insanely bad “new” ideas from the 13th century.

Yeah, they’re really jumping all over the place now in a desperate hunt for something to get the country back on their side after the whole abortion thing and midterm disaster. A couple weeks ago it was gas stoves, then it was M&M mascosts again, now as of yesterday it’s WOKEbox (Xbox) for instituting powersaving

Every single year, these conservative nitwits get even stupider.

I guess you have to periodically take a break from being racist, misogynist religious kooks?

Why mess with a successful formula?
