The Mayhem are their own microcosm in the Muppet troupe and I think the only ones that could carry a series on their own if you’re not gonna focus on Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie and Gonzo. Like, you couldn’t do a Bunsen and Beaker show. And the reviews I’ve seen all say this particular gamble worked.

In the clip they showed at NYCC, she mentioned needing a room to do pantless yoga. So, on the right track!

Yeah, what a dumb thing to say.

Uncle Deadly was kind of a nothing character until they basically reinvented him in the ABC sitcom. Why can’t this show deepen and expand on the Mayhem and flesh them out?

*mic-drop*

Man, it’s so hard to watch him in that condition.

This is the AV Club, not The Blaze.

The Trump era wasn’t a comedic political environment?

Is this dumb faux-feud based around the premise that you can literally only see one of these movies in the opening weekend?

The hyper-realism stuff is so bad. People remember the cartoon versions because they have distinct looks and can emote in fun, cartoony ways. These are just literally photorealistic animals and you can do almost nothing with them.

Well, sure, there’s like a hundred thousand more TV shows than there were in 2007.

That was one of my issues too. The characters in the movies were A. adults, and B. were shown to have years of experience doing what they’re doing. The young people in this, raised in the internet age so sure they *could* know this stuff, required a lot more suspension of disbelief than I could muster.

I watched the whole thing and this doesn’t surprise me. It just wasn’t...fun. The movies are based around a ridiculous premise, but Nic Cage and co. sell it. This series took itself way too seriously (so many people die! What the heck??) and the characters were flat.

I forgot about that show. It seemed like to me FOX was trying to get another Brooklyn Nine-Nine thing going, but police unpopularity is at an all-time high, so they went with a similar thing that’s not going to make anyone mad.

Yeah, gonna say, she’s totally in-your-face about everything that “stealth” doesn’t make sense as a label. Now, Mr. Johnson - that’s a stealth character.

Gina was worse because she was almost never nice to anyone, yet was constantly framed as being right.

She has gotten slightly more competent this season. Emphasis on “slightly.”

It also made no sense that the table would shake when she had the salad bowl way above it.

Watch conservatives get mad somehow despite electing a reality show host for President.

She’s part of the Muppet Theater orchestra, not the Mayhem.
