I was expecting the first movie to be some wacky slapsticky thing like Cheaper by the Dozen, but aside from the thing where Steve Martin tries to get a letter from falling in a pool or something, I was surprised by how grounded it was. The sequel was a little more what I was expecting.

IMO, 2D animation doesn’t really “date” as much because the technology and techniques essentially haven’t changed as drastically as the improvement of CGI. Like, Snow White was made in the 30s and still looks great, and stuff from today like say that Green Eggs and Ham show doesn’t look too dissimilar from it. Compare…

My favorite MCU movies are the Ant-Man ones (the sequel more than the first), so I’m glad to hear another one in the works.

Animaniacs somehow managed to be more like Looney Tunes than Tiny Toons did (that said, Tiny Toons Vacation is a far better direct-to-video movie than Wakko’s Wish).
