Obviously, the worst remake of “The Shop Around the Corner” is “In the Good Old Summertime”, which has a couple of quality musical numbers by Judy Garland, but is otherwise not good.

I’m pro-Pimento, but I dunno, this episode kinda fell flat for me. The A-plot felt a little too chaotic for me, and the B-plot was kinda flat. Still some good laughs, I just wished I liked it more.

Um, are you forgetting ENCHANTED?

I don’t know how well you can do fairy tales these days without having to constantly update the parts that our modern society has deemed “no way Jose.”

Can’t be worse than that Monster Mash musical movie Bobby Pickett and DJ from Full House starred in.

“Shut up, Cool Charles - I hate this new dynamic!”

Can Vanessa Bayer come back every week? Because she was an absolute highlight. Also Holt’s favorite desert - carrots.

They also presented a 4:3 image stretched into 16:9. Tisk tisk.

Man, I remember ages ago when the first trailers for the series dropped and I thought this was going to be a dumb show with dumb animal jokes. And boy have things come a long way from then.

As visually neat as this episode was, I will never praise the actual animation of it. It’s like moving shadow puppets - their limbs and bodies can only move a certain way. Just think how this show would look if it were animated traditionally like, say, The Simpsons or Gravity Falls.

I haven’t been laughing very much so far, as this back half has been very heavy, but the cat stuck in a tree gag was great.

I have never been a fan of the animation of this show (Flash always looks cheap and too puppet-y, unless done stylistically like Homestar Runner, or those new Mickey Mosue shorts), but I love when go visually crazy like the scribble scenes here (or the multiple Princess C. thing from last year).

I would be lying if I said seasons 3 & 4 weren’t as good as the first two, but this a great finale; I was emotional the entire team and teared up a few times.

They should stay as is so I can stream them on the TCM site after they happen to air on TCM.

I haven’t seen Bambi, but are there any sexist/racist things in it that this remake will attempt to correct like all the others have tried (and failed) to do?

You’re referring to the door they come up with at the end, right?

I woulda set up a door where you can explore other dimensions, or time travel, or just generally go places and do things that aren’t perfect Good Place constructs

I genuinely have no idea where they can go from here, so the series finale should be an hour of surprises.

Is this another iHOB situation?

Yeah, this felt episode so “slight” even though, like, the single most important thing just happened to the main crew. And it was treated as “just another thing” and not a “holy crud, they made it!” kinda thing.
