There’s two running gags that I’m not really fond of with the series: the “making a buncha rhymes in the same sentence/exchange” routine, and the frequent calling attention to standard sitcom tropes (like Todd’s “My comical scheme has gone wrong” or whatever from this episode).

Now playing

Dang, I’d never be able to narrow down an answer to this.

Pepper.

This was probably the weakest to me so far this season. Everything up until the final confrontation wasn’t bad, but it all ended on a “non-ending” note. Still, it’s nice to see the Monarch portrayed as actually pretty competent after his last arching disaster.

I dunno. The whole episode felt really off to me. The only big laugh I got was at the very end with Dee’s reaction to be called a bird again.

Good news!

Every episode this season has been a hit.

I’ll put this in the “skeptically optimistic” pile.

I love how the Monarch has evolved from secondary character to practically the star of the show.

The AV Club is what got me watching this show in the first place, so thank you Will for all your recaps/reviews.

What does this mean for Young Sheldon???

I hope it can stay popular for just a little bit longer; there’s a Muppet version coming soon apparently.

I really loved this episode; I’ve already watched it a few times (I could watch that ending from when the Monarch shows up over and over). I get people may not get into the mythology and the huge info dump this episode was, but I don’t care; it was still great.

That was rull good way to end the season (even though I really got tired of the “Ducks” family motto). I think everyone kinda knew the wham shot at the end would happen, but it’s still a great moment. I don’t expect a full reunion until the season two finale, which I can only assume will air in 2025 based on Disney’s

There’s like a hallow feeling to the way everything sounds. And there’s a bunch of instances where there should be sound effects, but there aren’t any or they use pretty lame ones.

I guess I should’ve said “the lead woman from Once the Musical.”

These episodes kinda felt a little harsh on Josh’s character to me; it’s one thing to have him think a mesh top was cool (great visual gag) and it’s another for him to lose his virginity to his mom’s best friend. And various other things made it seem like Josh isn’t just dealing with extraordinary circumstances, he’s

Fry’s hairdo is seen on one of the wig stands in the episode, for the curious.

Luci’s overbite never looks right to me unless he’s talking.

About half-way through the pilot and right now my main thing is the sound design - really bad. Also, why is this 36 minutes?
