Semantics, dude. I tend not to argue over them, I’d suggest the same. Arguing over a single word in a 300-400 word essay will drive you insane, which would be a shame (no semantics over my usage here, it really would be a shame, you have more to offer to the conversation).

I don’t know, dude. I grew up in the 70's/80's and I miss the one dimensional scorers like Gervin, Thompson, English, Dantley, King, etc. Maybe it’s just looking fondly at my youth, but I miss those guys. You will get no argument from me that the basketball being played today is far superior to what I grew up around,

Fair point. My rebuttal: what team in today’s NBA are going to settle for a catch and shoot 3 point shooter who 1)is a liability on defense 2) can’t create his own shot and 3) doesn’t do much outside of put points on the board.

And don’t forget, his father was a below average NBA coach at best.

Because I remembere the Spurs when they sucked. The years after Gervin left, Gilmore got old and the only player worth cheering was Alvin Robertson. They were a painful team to watch play basketball. That 88-89 team, the one Larry Brown somehow coaxed 20 wins out of ranks right there with some of the worst teams of

Outside of McKey and the Davis boys, they were a terrible defensive team, I don’t know their defensive metrics, but I do have eyes. Mark Jackson was slow when he was a rookie with NY in 87, he got slower over the years. Now, he could muscle up any PG in the league, but he wasn’t catching anybody or beating them to

Shao Lin needs to start a martial arts school for these sort of events.

Spell check God is wonky on my tablet.

I just believed in the magic of Tarkanian and would love to see that happen again to a guy who seems to have the style and attitude ready to pull it off.

I don’t see why, in a year in which beloved ex-coach Jerry Tarkanian passed away, that the boosters from UNLV haven’t pooled their resources and got a replacement at coach who not only understood the Tarkanian legacy but in many ways has become the true heir to the Tarkanian Royal Blood.

“His UALR Trojans took the conference title then upset Purdue in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.”

I really don’t want this post to get lost in time because it’s absolutely the work of genius. +1 for making me laugh for 5 minutes straight after the photo reveal matched to the writing. Kudos.

If you could somehow combine them both into one single player named Nerlens Okafor they’d have their transcendent superstar to build from.

At some point I fully expected Hinkie to quote investment strategies from Lenny Dykstra.

You deserve far more than my +1 for this well thought out and reasoned post.

“Tim Keown’s writing style makes you wonder what percentage of his readers are literate.”

I kind of thought it’s more of a “look, I’d be a fucking Navy Ranger or whatever if it wasn’t for my God given ability to hit slightly above the Mendoza line while making 13 million dollars” kind of look.

Bravo, Maestro! Bravo! +1

I’m pretty sure it was completely consentual until Kobe went for the Trinity and that just changed everything about the encounter.

Wait, was that actually Kobe saying these things or was it The Black Mamba?
