He would not need to use her phone to tweet. The phone number is strictly a recovery device by Twitter and has no relation to what devices one might tweet from. He could have tweeted for all the accounts from a single phone and had five different recovery numbers if he so chose.

Much more likely coangelo simply used his wife’s number to register these accounts as it is only used when it comes time for a recovery.
