Time & attention are finite resources. I went to a Catholic school & knew kids who had several siblings, & in all of those families, the older kids became de facto parents in their adolescence.

There are independent liquor stores in British Columbia too, but there aren’t any convenience stores where you can buy it, & only a couple of grocery stores - & those only sell wine, as far as I know.
