That “Bret Easton Ellis font” is the actual typeface Halston used in his advertising & logo.

Thank you for introducing me to that horribly apt comparison.

I think the fillers hadn’t settled so that was as close as she could get to a mostly not terrifying semi-human expression.

Proving once again that they are only “pro-life” up until the point that that life actually starts.

The photo in the header is giving me a flashback to Phoebe Cates in “Lace”.

I recently watched a YouTube video breaking down the implications of the contract contestants have to sign, & it was pretty appalling. Indentured is a very apt description.

About the first, “I learned from watching you, mom!!”
As for the second, agreed. Shame on everyone involved with this. Gus Kenworthy, are you really this thirsty?

Now that I’d watch.

Streets of Fire is endlessly rewatchable for me. Such a great example of a self-contained cinematic world. Walter Hill of The Warriors + Jim Steinman = MAGIC.

I don’t know if you’ve watched any of it yet, but Rich is just paraphrasing what she herself said in one of the episodes here. Not that I disagree with your take - hopefully Demi herself comes to some understanding of that too.

Literally no one cares that you’re going to subject yourself to all that pedestrian writing in the service of proving some kind of misguided point. Fill your boots, champ.

And to quote Warren Zevon (in reference to business dealings), Even a Dog Can Shake Hands.

He has declared bankruptcy a few times; it seems that living beyond his means has always been an issue.

Andy, please log off.

It’s sad that you’re so comfortable with being disrespected like this.

OT, but your username makes me very happy.

Sorry, I should have been clearer: before I watched, I assumed it would be the kind of sleazy near-softcore of Black Flag or Spartacus; I wasn’t expecting it to be as affecting & sombre as it was.

I haven’t read her noir yet; I discovered her some time after the publication of “Dare Me”, which I devoured in one night & then read everything subsequent. I started working my way backward last year, so I’ve read “The End of Everything” & will begin the noir shortly. I’m so excited that I’ve still got five books

Yesss... loved that one too! She’s such a powerful writer.
