I'm all about DIY, but a Nest is only like $250.

" If you aren't particularly mechanically inclined, a 30 year old motorcycle might not be the best idea"

Thats why you make friends with Engineering students...seriously...we're lonely.

How did you score a $200 a month lease? I was looking at volt's in CO (which has an awesome EV incentives package) and I was looking at close to $500 a month. What do you have? an Leaf?

Hey!

What's your take on doing dual monitors with the laptop being one? I've been doing it for a while (at work we use laptops with base stations) and I'm not really sold. the height and size difference (Even though i know you can adjust it so it makes sense spacially) throws me off and I never seem to use the laptop

It comes down to the fact that some extremely valid points about the inadequacies of UVA's system for dealing with sexual assault claims are going to go down in a fiery shitstorm because the author made poor journalistic decisions and, when faced with a number of victims who's stories she could tell to build Pathos

The first law of thermodynamics is...you do not talk about thermodynamics.

"Sorry!"

I'm all about leveraging the F-35 and Osprey on a vessel like this, but getting rid of the Well deck? on an amphibious assault vessel? What the hell?

If my girlfriend and I learned one thing from the experience it's that a dedicated space is critical. If you have to move out of downtown to afford the space, do it. it's worth it. (Plus, if it's dedicated you can get a decent tax exemption for it. that helps.)

except...you know...the "Close" part of "Close Air Support"

Look! A Penny!

You know, for all it's faults and missteps, the F-35 is a really innovative aircraft, and even if, as a military tool, it proves to be woefully overpriced for what it provides, the fact is that it was a good excuse to spend billions of dollars on technology R&D that will eventually reach the civilian market, but the

If you're dropping hundreds of thousands on an RV, you can get your CDL.

Granted, this depends entirely on the RV. A buddy of mine in high school used his parents old Class-B RV (a camper van) as his primary vehicle. It absolutely chugged gas, but it was no bigger than a full sized pickup. (And it was a blast)

My high school barely had a metal shop.

actually (and I mean this genuinely) if you're interested in orbital mechanics, and the math behind things like orbital transfers actually isn't as complex as one would think. (have you played a game called "Kerbal space program"? it's pretty wicked. I think it might be up your alley) Once you're in orbit, there

As an aerospace engineer I have two words for you my friend: Failure tolerance.

You can design pretty much anything with relativer ease if you don't include a safety factor. The Apollo missions were pretty fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants affairs that we could justify because...hey look: Russians!... NASA would never

I used a similar technique to bone up on my German a while back. I just marathon watched one star wars movie a night for a few weeks with the German dubbing. I knew the lines so well the use of similar inflections on the delivery of the same line in a different language made catching up on vocabulary really easy.
