Heh, steelies. I see the iron-y there.

This sucks, majorly. Hide your Scoobies!

You're forgetting how many WRX owners want stock STi wheels.

Do you like the Subaru BRZ?

Street racing. Easily the dumbest thing you can do in a vehicle behind actually drunk driving. Purposeful endangerment of others in an uncontrolled environment. It just doesn't get dumber than that.

You can re-register online in Colorado.

I'll one up that one. Take all of that, add one helmet strapped to the bike instead of on the rider's head. Dumbest move I've ever seen, and I see it all the time.

That was the point of the radiator cap, but it's been amended to reflect your automotive skills more closely.

Coolant hose replacement procedure:

That's cool. I've wanted to built a tube framed, open race car with a Scoob engine and transaxle, but that's far into my future at this point. I am happy to know that there are parts available to make it happen, though.

Do you know where you are getting the transaxle from? I've heard that the FWD transaxles out of 90s Subarus can be a good choice, but I've also seen STi transmissions with a plug put in where the drive shaft exits.

An EJ257 would work great for that application. If you just want a straight swap, that would work. You will have to relocate the intercooler, I think. Doing so isn't a big deal, as you can do custom piping for the intercooler and exhaust and put them wherever you want. It's a decent amount of work, but I'm sure

The LS1 is quite a light engine, and the EJ257 does has the advantage of a lower center of gravity in that most of the block sits low. It's also really short, which could come in handy, but it's really wide. On top of that (heh), the intercooler sits on top of the engine, so unless you planned on moving that, it would

I think an LS1 is about the same weight as an EJ257 and it doesn't need the turbo exhaust piping. There just isn't a better package for swapping than an LS engine.

I like what Pauljones had to say (as usual), and I'd like to note that if you are trying to bring your significant other (in my case, my wife) into the world of cars, you have to understand where they may be coming from. My wife has no male siblings, and so she was not involved in the video game or car culture at all.

Lisa,

No.

An understandable mistake. All will be forgiven, and as a token of our generosity, $kaycog will be by in a few days to relieve the owners of their GT so that, in the future, no more mistakes can be made.

Yes, and all you need is a snail to keep that power going.

GIS FTW.
