Does anyone feel sorry for all the golfers who got turned to stone and didn’t get turned back again (at least as far as we saw)?
Does anyone feel sorry for all the golfers who got turned to stone and didn’t get turned back again (at least as far as we saw)?
You know what would have been an interesting way to deal with that? Go the Gasoline Alley route and have the characters age in real time. If The Simpsons had done this, Bart and Lisa would be in their mid-30s by now, while Homer and Marge would be old enough to take Abe’s place in the nursing home. Ah, the road not…
I can’t say for sure that this is the worst Simpsons episode, but it definitely belongs in the bottom five. It’s desperate to manipulate the audience into surrendering “all the feelz”, but undermines itself by turning one of the most decent, moral and beloved characters in the series into a hateful bitch for the…
I even admitted on social media that I started watching the cold open and wound up tearing up as a result.
Just because Darkwing is based in St. Canard doesn’t mean the city is fictional in this show’s universe. But yeah, I was hoping for a “real” Darkwing appearance too, and I hope they still pull it off with one of those writing tricks you alluded to.
Since it seems that “Once You’ve Ruled Out God” won’t get an individual review, I might as well try to get a discussion going here. (SPOILER ALERT, naturally.) My thoughts:
1. I’d love to see Genevieve’s thoughts on this episode because it gave so much focus to Joan and her relationships with her sister and father.
2.…
I’ll miss them too. Why no regular reviews, Genevieve?
Proctor’s corpse was in the coroner’s office, and Tobias specifically said he had an inside man get the thumbs for him. Maybe the Pierces and Gambi should have considered that the coroners in Freeland are as crooked as the rest of the government, but I’ll let it slide.
I have mixed feelings about the scene. Proctor had to die, and Gambi was the most likely to kill him, but I don’t know if I would have him do the shooting in front of the Pierces. If it had to happen that way, I would have made the Pierces less complicit by having Gambi draw and fire so quickly that no one had a…
I’m glad Khalil survived, because I still want to see how he reacts if/when he learns that Tobias and Syonide are responsible for his paralysis in the first place. But considering how thoroughly Tobias has corrupted him, would he even care?
Thanks!
Nothing about Scully’s ability to stop his heart on cue? Hell of a party trick.
[quote]
“...the top assassin who can’t kill anybody even with a clear shot.” According to the closed captions, she’s Syonide, whose name is shared by three different DC villains (although this version seems to have the most in common with Syonide II).
About the collateral damage:
1. I guess Anissa could have done more to help…
I’m just hoping that the doctor who’s unwillingly treating Tobias’ albinism will be okay, along with his family.
As I’ve said before, I’m wondering what will happen when Khalil discovers that the guy who’s “helping” him is the guy responsible for his condition in the first place.
I’m assuming Khalil doesn’t yet know who Tobias is, or that Tobias is trying to use him, or why. If/when he finds out, Tobias and his gang are going to be very sorry. At least I hope that’s where the story will go.
I wonder why Marge was impeached—-or is it better that we don’t know?
I don’t remember ever seeing [Gladstone] in the first Duck Tales.
Every episode is closed-captioned.
