There is also the looming issue of climate change. Making chips requires a lot of water, and Taiwan has a water shortage at the moment.

I see so many Americans wining about range anxiety on road trips and laugh myself silly. Do you have any idea what actual range anxiety is? Try for instance the most obvious long road trip here, crossing the Nullarbor.

3rd Gear: Worked at a McDonalds along a rural interstate for several years, starting in 2003. It was fun during the summer to watch people come in, MapQuest print out in hand, place their order, then sheepishly ask an employee where the hell they were.

Here’s the one I remember the best:
Customer (with poor English):

If traffic is that low, then it’s not a major barrier to EV adoption, because most people aren’t using it.  As you say, most people aren’t even aware of how the current logistics work.

Exactly. It’s a hell of a lot easier/cheaper to set up solar/battery stations that are self-sufficient rather than trucking in diesel and guzzoline to remote locations around the country on a continual basis.  Especially with Immortan Joe and his war boys attacking convoys...

5th gear:

At one point very recently, there were nearly as many camels in Australia as there was in Saudi Arabia. And these were all feral. Australia spent nearly $20 million culling them down to around 300,000.

Throw up a bunch of solar panels and charging stations and now you have pretty self sufficient stops. Getting fuel out to those remote places requires pipes or trucks to get there, but solar just takes it from the sky above. Right now those places are not EV friendly, but they dont have to be that way.

They imported them for use before cars, trains, etc.

Australia has camels?

Coloradoan here - this dipshit is boned, big time. Colorado has cracking down majorly on street racing, and they are now issuing 12 point tickets that result in an immediate loss of license for 1 year, and they impound your vehicle. As it should be.

Sidebar: I fucking can’t stand Hellcats. Every single one I’ve seen

5th gear.

Communist thinking like this is keeping us from being great again. [crashes schoolbus while commenting]

But enough about Nascar...

Normally I have no love lost for pickup trucks, but this one genuinely looks like a work truck - tool box - (no not the driver’s compartment), no visible lift or body work, and the plain white paint. Pretty clear who was the tool at this scene. Good nobody was seriously hurt, sadly both vehicles likely totaled.

800 Hp directly flat in the door of many cars is going to flip it.

If you watch the first video you can clearly see that the Hellcat continues to push the Silverado into the curb.  Hitting the curb caused the rollover.

It’s hard to sell mid size trucks in Texas. I get what they are trying to do, but Jeeps are pretty useless in Texas because there’s very little public land and there’s a huge bias against smaller trucks.

Truck nuts, Calvin urinating on a rainbow flag.

Judging by the number of 2 door trucks I see on the road, I highly doubt this is the way Jeep should have gone. They might as well have released a station wagon.
