As someone who lives in CA, and see lots of these stupid mark-ups....I agree with the suggestion to contact LOTS and LOTS of dealerships.

Commecial real estate in SF is crazy high- so dealers there can’t chip away at their profit as much as a dealer in Ohio or Georgia. It’s worth buying a car in middle America and

The 1 Series M is definitely not the “best looking” car you’ve ever driven.
Sure it drives great, but just looks too much like a $20k econo subcompact

oil-related issues, electrical issues, transmission issues, suspension issues- he already had about $10k worth of repairs covered under the extended warranty before the car even hit 60k

Ok, and in 2018- when all of the 2012s are breaking- then you’ll say “well, - it’s a 2012"- the 2015s and up are the reliable models”.

Ouch....quite a lot of $ in just 54 days.
After carefully watching Vantages on Autotrader for years, I sure dodged a bullet by not buying one.
Can you please record a video reviewing the acceleration, shifter feel, clutch feel, handling, braking, rear visibility, etc?
Does it feel as fast as your old CTS-V wagon?

LOL....always see them on the entry level models!!

My friend just had to spend $4,500+ on repairs for his 2009 A4, despite being ultra vigilant with maintenance. So it’s not just being “stuck in the 90s”. Audi’s initial quality is decent, but good luck after 6 years.

compare this grill opening to the MASSIVE current Lexus grills

blechhhhhhhhh.....looked bad when it came out and looks bad now

Great article- cool to see 2 Vloggers doing a cross-over video.
100% agree most driving modes all feel the same (can’t tell much different between track, sport, touring, and eco on my Stingray).

Crazy it had that much power in 4th gear. Good save Doug!!
This is exactly why I bought a regular C7 instead of the Z06. You

Wow- that’s pretty bad. How many miles did it have on it?
One of my friends just had his 2012 X5 rear differential fail- only 60k miles

It sure looks gorgeous from this photo....the 7 spoke wheels, the red calipers, the beautiful subtle integrated rear spoiler, the dual exhaust built into the rear bumper fascia

Yes, would be interesting to see the records.

Flatbedded already? Did the battery totally die? This should be a great article.

It’s an EXCELLENT choice Doug!!! I’ve always drooled over the beautiful Vantage, so glad you can perform this experiment for us. Will be curious to see how low you can get the MPG....I’ve read some folks have gotten 9!! Might rival the Hummer.
There are very few high mileage Vantage’s on Autotrader- so will be

LOL

Split the cost for the clutch- and cost you $2500.
$5000 for a clutch?? OUCH.
The auto is really, really horrible though. Even on the 2014 Vantage I test-drove.
Is the shift gate pretty precise? Light clutch?

stupid.
