Your “bond and bolt” photo looks more like a thick aluminum plate welded (rather sloppily) to the Corvette frame, and the thin steel roll cage base plate bolted to that. Whatever space grade bonding adhesive you’re describing must be a very thin layer hidden between the plates...

I admit it makes me smirk a bit when I hear of a really rich dude getting upset because he’s not rich enough for something. I learned how to drive a stick shift at the age of 15 in a 1991 F-150 with this engine. It was actually my daily driver for a few months before getting my Datsun Stanza.
