The way federal taxes work, it’s bracketed by income beyond a certain amount. So 50% (which I still agree is a bit much) will be taxed only out of their income past half a billion or so.

Poor people, by virtue of necessity, spend almost all of their money every year just to get by. The rich can afford to let 90% of their income sit in a bank vault. So only having sales tax means the poor pay disproportionately higher taxes while the people content to hoard money their whole life pay nothing.

It hurts to know there are people like you that truly believe the poor are only poor because they aren’t smart investors, and that they’re just mooching by not paying taxes.
