BECAUSE THAT’S HOW YOU GET ANTS.

I think it’s kind of shitty that this writer put his own spin on puppets that had been around for 20+ years (and I’m sure he knew of Sesame Workshop’s stance).

This point needs to be perfectly clear and understood: denial of abortion services to women is purely punishment. It has NOTHING to do with saving a life - because the same ilk will;

I have similar family stories. I imagine most families do, they’ve just been lost to history.

One of my great aunts died and one was rendered sterile from back alley abortions. But that’s only half of the story—to great aunts were tied to abusive husbands because they were not allowed access to birth control and my great grandmother died a fairly brutal and painful death from complications of having her 14th

Thank you for this story.

My biggest beef with clothing manufacturers:

I’m working in Japan right now for about a year for my job. I explained to my Japanese coworkers (who all have National Health) how healthcare works in the US, and they were pretty shocked.

I’m in the top 50% and I barely get by with the expenses of my single home.

When you leave this to churches and charities, the people they will help are always “deserving people”, AKA people like us.

Plus, the donations are from low income people to poor people to poorer people. The bottom 50% of this country is all taking care of the other bottom 50%, while the top 50% hoard the wealth and buy 20 homes, and pay their employees so little, their employees qualify for food stamps!

Yeah, we have close to 100 trillion in wealth in this country. In the world, 16 people have more wealth than the bottom 50% of the entire planet. Yet we all gush about gofundmes for people with cancer, or homeless people or when nurses donate their time off to another nurse. It doesn’t *have* to be this way, and it’s

So much this! We live in a country where we rely far too much on donations from individuals, non-profits and churches. Many many people slip through the cracks because of this. All of the aforementioned have limited and biased sphere’s of influence ($400k going to ONE veteran being case-in-fucking-point). Whereas the

I don’t know the facts here, maybe they stole the money but as someone that works with low/no income often homeless and with addiction/mental health issues the answer to their problem is rarely a handout without strings.

Maybe we as a country shouldn’t have to rely on individual GoFundMe campaigns to fight drug addiction and homelessness, or may for medical bills, or really provide any of the kinds of services that a government in a wealthy country should be able to provide.

Thank you. The thing is, I do not need this! I have a very full, rewarding (professionally and personally), kid-filled life. But this needs doing and no one else had stepped up and NO WAY was I going to leave an empty spot on the ballot. I thought my challenges would be with the repub machine I’m running against (and

Etched in the crystal section of my memory is a moment forty three fucking years ago* when I was visiting my mother in Palo Alto CA. The purpose of the visit was for her to get to know her first grandchild at age 5 months. We were out at lunch, and Baby wanted to eat as well. I excused myself and rushed to the Ladies

My friend was a young mother in the 80's. We were sitting at the mall (I know) with her new baby and she was trying to breast feed in a corner of the food court behind a pillar. And mind you she was covering herself with a blanket and trying to as discreet as possible. This little old Italian man walks by and tells
