To bad for her. He’s on record as saying no woman over 35 is fuckable. On second thought, maybe not too bad for her. At least she gets to sleep in peace.

Haha thanks! I’ve tried with these people but they weren’t raised like you!

“Don’t be brown, don’t be brown, don’t be brown.” — the silent prayer I pray after a mass casualty event in regards to the identity of the killer.

In addition. I am open. I come here to learn and absorb and then I jump to the comments bexause I love seeing how people thing and what they contribute. But when someone says something factually wrong like that I randomly wall up to strangers and ask their race, or call me racist like you seemingly are doing, or that

The fact that you’re comparing me to neo nazis (!) says it all. I can see you want to do the right thing for the world, but you’re expending your energy on useless efforts. If you want to make an impact, a real one... Then show up at one of those rallies. Fighting someone over the internet because that person honors

ONEof the most important things missed from these discussions is the concept of preconception care. The US has disproportionately unhealthy patients coming into their pregnancies, and primary care needs to be happening long before pregnancy and families need the resources to plan pregnancy. No one wants to do boring

Since you might have biracial children in the future-I will bother to give you “inside scoop” on how I feel about being labeled exotic. Even though I understand it’s well intentioned and often meant to be flattering when people say that I’m beautiful because I am mixed race (Filipino and Anglo-Saxon), I can’t help but

Good suggestion. Since I’ve always been drawn sexually to mixed race people (I’ve always found them attractive and sigh, exotic) , Im looking at it as a compliment. I envy the plight of mixed people in that they never have to hold themselves bound to racial norms. They’re free to be, act, dress however they want. They

Here’s my racist story:

Nothing will come of it. It will change nothing.

I feel as if almost all the parents in this series are trying to turn the tables on how this should work and put the burden of the relationship on the children instead of themselves. It’s the children who have to deal with their psychological or physical absence, their abuse, their lack of preparedness for their

Same. I would rather be at work for 8 hours than 8.5... I prefer spend the half hour at home instead of hiding in my car with a book (I refuse to sit in our breakroom so people can come ask work things while I’m not getting paid)

I don´t mean it seems silly outside of Iceland. Of course those names have been part of families for generations in other countries. Even in other Scandinavian countries like Denmark and Sweden, there are family names that get passed down to each new child.

Its funny that a girl with a "son" last name is silly to you, when it's so normal to me. I've never thought of it that way. My last name ends with son. Post slavery, freed slaves needed a last name for records, but often didn't have one. Often, they would do 1 of 4 things-

My parents did this for me and my brother. It didn't scar us or anything but people have always assumed that we're half siblings and it was a huge pain in the ass to explain it. I never cared about sharing a name with both parents but I always wanted to share a name with my sibling.

When my then-fiance and I discussed names, I made it clear that I had no intention of giving up my last name. I argued that I love my name as-is, and I'm an established professional.

This is a conversation I regret not having with my husband before Cheeze Slice was born. I hadn't really gotten into the feminist perspective as much, and thus went along with the status quo. I still haven't changed my name, though. First, out of laziness, and now out of principle.

In Iceland, where I live, names are usually patrilineal, where Þórsson is the Son of Þór. However, you can choose to give your child the mother´s name if you want to (If the mother´s name is Lilja and the father´s name is Birkir, you can name your daughter Liljudóttir or Birkirsdóttir). It´s no big thing. The parents

I wanted to say something longer or more emphatic. When the in-laws (or, God forbid, my parents) say something about how he won't "let" me do something, I feel the overwhelming need to show everyone that, if I can conceive, carry, and deliver a baby ... allowing him to participate in naming it is a courtesy I'm

That is exactly why Judaism is passed through the mothers side. The Jewish people, historically, were commonly attacked and the women raped.
