The in flight entertainment can have a small connection to the avionics... A very small connection. This connection is there to provide some basic info like altitude, speed, position, heading... The info needed for the map display for the passengers.

No, that is the correct direction of spin... The spinning blades cause turbulence and rotational forces that must be smoothed out and redirected. The blades with opposing pitch are there for this reason.
