There was a review on Inverse that mentioned the transphobia, but surprised a lot of reviewers are glossing over it

*ding ding ding* yep pretty sure that's what happened.

this ep reminded me that it usually takes awhile for this show to find its groove in a season. i didn't think this was great and I don't really buy Wiley as a therapist yet, but we'll see.

yep, that was my problem. i was just like "wow, her kids are awful. wish she didn't have these kids. hm."

I don't want to know who she is. Anyone who wants to shout out that they're a feminist can do so in my opinion. It only seems to be hurting people like you.

but you keep writing.

No, all those words you wrote to feel better about your misunderstanding of intersectional feminism is truly sad. You decided Beyonce was an average pop act over 10 years ago and won't change your mind despite the shifts in her current work. The end. That's all you're going off of.

and the reviews they do have are usually so out of touch. that Frank Ocean/Blonde review was embarrassing.

You compared someone studying with feminist scholars and declaring themselves a feminist as the same thing as someone studying with black scholars and declaring themselves black. those aren't things you should compare. it's stupid to do so.

Sure, you didn't listen to her last two major releases that specifically touch on her feminism, but you've heard/read enough to know! Sure!

You didn't know anything relevant to this conversation. You didn't know she's worked with actual feminist scholars. You didn't know the themes of her self-titled album or Lemonade.

But you said when Beyonce sang about putting a ring on it, it meant she wasn't a feminist…but apparently now it doesn't matter…lots of people do.
