I don’t know, i worked there for 13 years and either this is very recent (last 2/3 years) or this was uber hidden. I don’t doubt there was racism, but that it was systematic all through the organization seems like a stretch to me.

If the Chinese made the film and don’t care about the issue of a white savior, I have a hard time doing so.

Movie is made with Chinese money for Chinese market by a Chinese director. Yet a white American feels sufficiently entitled to critique a movie she hasn’t watched.

I agree with you! But to write the guy off as “dumb,” which is the reputation he has, b/c he has some “out there” religious views, isn’t fair. I don’t think he is qualified for those spots either, but the writer said it was “ironic” that he could even be considered for areas where he has actual experience.

Pretty sure I am raising a good faith objective. Calling a renowned brain surgeon dumb is ridiculous. It’s like saying, “Yeah, this guy won the decathlon at the Olympics, but he sucks at basketball, so at the end of the day, he’s a pretty shitty athlete.”

I would include that it’s extremely important not to makeup or exaggerate anything, because all it takes is a couple people crying wolf to get a bunch of other people’s legit problems ignored.
