My hate for him will never fully go away, but I’d trade for him in a second at this point.
Yeah, I agree, though at the level of national leader, whether someone is actually a terrible person or merely stands by while terrible people act with their authority, it’s kind of a moot point. The end result is the same.
Shooting the poachers works. Namibia shoots anyone in a national park that is armed. No questions asked. Boom. Dead. Consequently, Namibia is now taking in rhinos from South Africa in a sort of witness protection plan for endangered species.
I’ve always argued that we should all collect our toenail clippings, grind them, and sell them as rhino horn.
I know. The phrase “XXX, who is not a scientist, has been appointed to YYY...” seems like a canned statement now. Out with scientists, in with business executives.
“All of ‘em, Katie!”
Maybe because it’s someone who probably touted the importance of the 2nd amendment and owning all the guns, who then becomes a victim of senseless, preventable gun violence.
it looks that way because that’s where the outrage is. Twitter has banned plenty of men... and did quite a bit that was publicized during campaign season. That said, yeah, Twitter is a cesspool a couple SMALL steps above Reddit. People get away with a lot on Twitter, I’ll never disagree there, but those people also…
Or maybe, just maybe, it would be better to focus on the actual problem of sexual harassment and assault instead of getting mad at twitter because you violated their policy on posting other people’s “private or confidential information.”
Sometimes I think about getting a Twitter account just so I can occasionally post “I just coughed.”
“and citing numerous incidents where Twitter was far less quick to react when the behavior in question was targeted at women, rather than powerful men”
On Thursday, a clip of Emma Thompson’s interview with BBC Newsnight went viral for, well, obvious reasons: the…
“When free firefighters get bitten by ticks, get strained sinus injuries, and end up years later with congested lungs, hopefully they will have years of gainful employment, healthcare and a pension to lean on.”
The prisoners who are selected to fight fires have been incarcerated for low-level non-violent offenses and are thus not a danger to society. IF they were so dangerous, why would they be allowed to fight fires for the rest of us?
Not getting your point. I never said there shouldn’t be prisons or prisoners. I’m saying it’s gross to pretend that a ‘ward’ of the state can righteously ‘volunteer’ and it’s more gross to say the program exists to help the inmates redeem themselves. It exists to use inmates as slave labor.
I have no idea if training service dogs or making prosthetics is as rewarding as fighting fires, but you and I have different foci. I don’t care that the job makes them feel good if the condition of them having it allows us to pay them next to nothing and consider them lucky to get anything at all. Inmates feeling…
“The problem is that they’re being underpaid, and they’re not likely to get firefighting work once they’re out.”
So let’s see: While still married, Rodriguez starts dating Rose McGowan whom he meets during Grindhouse (distributed by Dimension Films created by Weinstein). Neither of them work a film under Harvey Weinstein again until Rodriguez signs on to Spy Kids 4 on September 25, 2009 for The Weinstein Company. Rodriguez and…
It’s presumptuous to say everyone talks. You can’t assign guilt to someone because you think they had to know just by virtue of being in the business. It’s total conjecture. And judging by how many of these women kept silent until now, it’s entirely plausible people would keep this information from someone like…
