It’s fascinating! I work in downtown LA and my office looks right at the Cecil - and those old DTLA hotels are creepy and sad enough without the, you know, murdery history. It seems so highly unlikely to me that her death was an accident, especially considering the area. ETA: the AHS murder house isn’t too far away, either!

Keep going with what, though? If they end the shows and end breeding, as Sarah J said, they’d be “phased out,” which seems like the way to go. There has to be some sort of switch to a sanctuary...I imagine that can only happen over time and with government support.

Yeah, I’m confused by this. If Sea World is shut down, where will the current animals go? Would Sea World become a private sanctuary, funded by...? I’m a million percent for ending live shows, breeding programs, and even for release if possible - but it would be heartbreaking for these animals to be euthanized or…

Not sure about hunting, but it’s a phrase U.S. government agencies use when referring to animals that will be killed as a result of construction, farming, etc. Like in EPA proposals. I think it’s supposed to sound kinder there, too.
