This is a bunch of bullshit written to explain away your blatant double standard when critiquing Man of Steel for the same exact thing done in Superman II.

I have to agree. A perfect Superman who saves everyone is just not interesting.
Yeah...I’m having trouble understanding why folks get all pissy about that. I’m pretty sure he gave his best effort at avoiding it until he had no real choice and, well, Bruce Wayne got all pissy about THAT. Maybe if he’d snapped Zod’s neck a bit sooner we wouldn’t have had to deal with BvS. Ever think about THAT?!?
James Gunn may be real popular, but his work is pretty spread out. All I know of him is Slither and the two GotG flicks. I am sure others will be in there, but he may have his way to balance good ideas with time spent.
It’s probably just the difference in taste. One need not make things that everyone likes to be a genius. Truth be told, most filmmakers I’ve seen when asked will say glowing things about Bay - not because the films are great but because of what he puts into them.
*Eyeroll at sarcasm*
Eh, I have little regard for Rotten Tomatoes, but not for Ratner’s reasons. I’m not a fan of a platform that can be gamed by over-reactive fanwankers, which RT is.
How soon before he and JonTron are running Breitbart’s Gaming section?
In fairness, about 46% of people are stupid.
I don’t get this, I’ve seen Rogue One in Imax 4 times and Leia looks perfect.
I may be among the minority here but I don’t find the effect bad at all and I have no problem with it. My suspension of disbelief is actually less affected by this than if they had cast a younger, sort-of-look-alike actor.
I think the smart money is on “some fucking mobile game.”
Amanda Waller is a powerful black woman in the government. She empowers a racially-diverse group of societal rejects to contribute to society. When they messed up, they fix their own mistakes.
MoS did just fine. The only backlash was in a minority vocal group that believes that translates to the rest of the world
Thats what Ive been saying about the movie. Everyone is excellent in the movie. Its the story that doesn’t make sense. It was too rushed with too many characters to give the spotlight too.
Your point still stands, however. The trendy thing seems to be to hate on DC and to sing the praises on everything marvel does. It is getting to be beyond ridiculous. My only real gripe with BvS was the horrendously corny turning point that establishes the friendship between Clark and Bruce. Other than that, I…
The acting in BvS was never the problem. Everybody, even Eisenberg, did fine (even good) with what they were given by the script and the direction from Synder.
It didn’t win Worst Picture of the Year. That was Hillary’s America, Dinesh D’Souza’s amazingly bad propaganda film about how the Democratic Party was entirely responsible for slavery. No really.
BvS was hardly the worst movie of 2016, but once the mob turned hating it into the bandwagon blood sport of the year, this outcome became inevitable..I hope everyone feels better, and is prepared to move on now.
Saw an interview with one of the BVS team (honestly can’t remember who, had stopped caring at that point) and the reason was that Clark urging Bats to “save Martha” was Clark’s journalistic cunning coming through - with no defence left he dropped the M bomb knowing it was an emotional trigger for Bats.
