More broadly speaking, I hope all of this makes engineers really think about it the next time they want to put every bell and whistle in a new car

If you opt to pick up your Corvette at the factory in Bowling Green you get charged the standard destination fee AND an additional museum delivery fee. You get charged more to pick it up right where it was made!

I wouldn’t be surprised if before too long we start seeing bullshit regulatory recovery fees added below the line.

The clearest signs that these fees are a profit center are the complete disconnect between factory location and destination fee (cars built overseas are supposedly cheaper to ship than cars built in the center of the country?) and the fact that no US automaker is willing to let you pick up at the factory and waive the

If a company has so much power, that it can dictate to states what to do and how to do things, and even make pay for them for what’s actually the company’s product and service, it’s definitely time to break that company up. State officials’ bank accounts should also be inspected.

I’m anxiously awaiting your $1 million donation to water.org.

Here’s footage from the first mission.

My head is spinning from the concept.

What a revolutionary idea. This should be able to send objects to dizzying heights.

This is one of the most Wile E. Coyote things I have ever seen.

I know it’s a couple of days later but I just had to share something that I just ran across - from 2015!

Didn’t we just had a vaping epidemic not long ago (2019)?

The vape brands you find in gas stations and pharmacies are all owned by tobacco companies. Which explains why they’re all crap. Then there’s Juul - also owned by big tobacco - which ups the nicotine concentration from the 0, 3, or 6mg of other brands to 57mg (FIFTY SEVEN!!). Then markets it to kids.

First FDA-approved ecig is from Vuze; owned by R. J. Reynolds - Producer of Newport, Kool, Pall Mall, and Camel Cigarettes. Nobody sees the problem there?!

You should really encourage her to at least switch to vaping. Her fears are completely outweighed by the health benefits.

Then don’t buy poor quality devices. Buy at a vape shop, not a gas station or convenience store. Problem solved.

And FYI, the image you’re talking about was a guy who built his own vape device out of a brass pipe, threaded caps, a 18650 lithium-ion battery, and no overcurrent protection.

Ah, the exploding vape lie again. Lump that in with the black market marijuana oil lung disease the FDA also lied about and blamed on e-cigs. Proven 100% bullshit. FDA had no credibility even before their COVID clusterfuck

Of course the only non cigarette devices they have authorized are from a tobacco company. They also authorized a heat not burn device (Iqos) from Altria back in 2020.

She’s worried about the safety of vaping but she SMOKES CIGARETTES?!?
