I strongly agree with the idea of offering prisoners employment for the purpose of re-integrating into society, but military body armour is one of the very few areas that should always be handled by professionals, ideally working for non-profit government-owned companies with strict oversight.

It’s also worth noting that the only thing that’s hit yet is the share market uncertainty. Concrete impacts - such as the damage to trade ties with the EU - haven’t materialised yet, and won’t for some years.
