There is one part that slightly confuses me:
At the end of "God Mode" Finch claims that he intended to put the Machine code out there so that the Machine would initiate its self-defence and take evasive action, so to speak.
Now in this episode Finch clearly had no control over who got the laptop with Casey's stolen…
