Article says 90,000+ cars recalled... Commenter ignores article and forges ahead with his minimizin’. Ah well.

American Airlines (which livery is used in this, clearly) was still flying the DC-10 when that short movie was made...

“someone, I guess, has always wanted” - I keep reading things like this and comparisons to the CrossCabriolet everywhere. I’ve never seen anybody confused by the existence of old school Defenders, the ubiquitous topless Wranglers or even the original Jeeps... Are people confused because this is upscale? *boggle*

“you can grab the terminals on a car battery but your car battery can start your engine” - good luck grabbing the terminals of a car battery. Especially since it takes a mere few milliamps across the heart to stop it...

You know this is a scene from a movie and not a real fight, right? :P

Wow.

Well, “almost” is a bit of a stretch (no pun intended) since the fuselage of the 53K is 9’10” wide while the C-130’s is over 14’ and their lengths are 76’ versus about 99’ for the shorter Hercules variants... And that’s just exterior dimensions, not cargo space... But still, that is one MASSIVE helicopter. Really hard

(if by “old Greek” you mean Latin)

It pretty much replaces a crossover, fullsize SUV, minivan, and Hellcat all in one. Not bad. ;)

50% increase over the Model S? It costs about $5,000 more than the equivalent S...

If you noticed, it’s the two other cars that parked it in...

Like most cars, crossovers and SUVs - what’s your point?

I’m guessing you won’t be driving 532 miles without a bit of a break somewhere. Just plug it in at a Supercharger while you grab a bite to eat. Tons of people do it... 532 miles is nothing.

What? Have you ever been to the San Francisco Bay Area? Ha...

“on a car this small and slow”

Considering that a 2008 RWD EX35 with the older, less powerful 3.5 VQ and with less cogs in its gearbox does 0-60 in the mid-to-high 5s, I can’t imagine why you’d call this car slow, especially compared to the competitors you list in this piece...

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - in my opinion the Su-27 and its many variants is one of the most stunning-looking airplanes ever built. Watching them fly demos many times as a kid in the 80s at Le Bourget was fantastic. And to me, while it has a different elegance as a one-seater, it’s one of the few plane

(just making sure - you know this is a fictional scene from a movie, right?)

Actually, at 60,000ft cruise, the Concorde was technically already pretty close to the edge of space. I know, I was there! Inky skies above during daytime, curved horizon and all. Pretty badass for an “airliner” (albeit one that takes off with afterburner) :)

I think people get irritated at passengers who clap after *any* run-of-the-mill landing...

EXACTLY what I came here to say. Nailed it!
