Sometimes I respond to trolls because otherwise theirs is the only opinion present and it offends me. In this case I agree with Darksider1972 and if he had not responded I would have.

Presumably because the crimes for which he was judged don't carry a life sentence. The judge thus cannot sentence them to life; this basically ends up being life but through a different avenue.

The victims of such events don't just get to move on; they will be haunted by this for a long time and it will be difficult for them to overcome such events.

I assume there was some legal reason but frankly it just sounds horrible for the victims and their family. I'm as baffled as you are.

You know on the principle i would tend to agree with you. Hey if it somehow allows them to get rid of their impulse in a safe manner then surely this actually makes real children everywhere safer.

No it's alright for the government to make laws to protect members of society. If you disagree then it is alright for you to elect representatives that will repeal those laws.

Honestly i'm not a legal expert so I can't say that the scenario you describe would actually constitute a breach of the law or if the drawings themselves need to actually be clear that they represent underage people.
