So I bought a PS4 and this game a week ago on a whim. I honestly didn't read a thing about Destiny, didn't play the alpha/beta, didn't watch videos, and generally didn't care for it since I didn't plan on being able to play it. As such, I would say my impressions are generally unvarnished, with minimal hype.

I'm just glad to see this post. I suddenly was dropped a while ago and have been unable to re-connect to Destiny and when I googled it, there was no news about the servers being in trouble. Oddly, just knowing it's not a problem on my end makes me feel better, even though I was screwed mid-mission.
