I normally try not to let myself get too hype for films these days...however...I am so hype for this film. I've had friends tell me "this looks like rockem sockem robots" or "I am disappointed that Del Torro is making this film", and even one "this looks like Battleship". I may have divorced myself from these people…

I don't care if he's a homophobe or not in other situations. His stance is to combat homosexual peoples right to marry. That he still insists on and that's why i don't like him nor want to support him.
That's him talking about his treatment of homosexuality in his fiction. The problem is his advocacy for the discrimination and bigotry in the real world that he doesn't back away from.
It's a shame. I hear it's a good story brought to film by people i'd like to support. But it's just impossible for me to watch this movie without continually thinking about what the original author, Orson Scott Card, stands for
