It's used to calculate speed. If it's built in you just start the chrono and check after, say 1000m, and it shows you the speed. You can also do so with the outer ring to position it on the minutes indicator, and after a distance you know check again : the minutes indicates your speed.

I've got my Tag Heuer Aquaracer automatic on me at all time, but I use it mostly as a double security when I go scuba diving, just in case my diving computer has a sudden battery failure and I need to get my diving tables out to calculate my decompression time... Oh, and for timing pastas cooking...

Well, I've done fair, I've stood on a booth for 12hours a day, and I've done all that in a suit and leather dress shoes... Yes my feet hurt in the end of the day, and yes it's a relief when I took them off, but till, I didn't look like a costumed marathoner...

I do Foie Gras with my microwave... Believe me, it's the best thing in the world when it comes to cooking evenly the whole thing... And microwaved bacon is, i believe, healthier than pan-cooked bacon, since the grease is absorbed by the paper towel...

Why would you limit the speed to 271 mph?? I mean either you put a proper limit at 200, or 120, or even a much safer 90 (no don't!), either just don't limit it at all... It makes no sens for me...
