We love ya too, Gerardi. Seriously; this is one of a scant few communities dedicated to gaming that I truly like, let alone love. I say this all the time, because I mean it.

Having a newborn, there’s a brief window where they will be so tiny that you can game while they nap in a pillow in your lap which seems like it would be perfect for the Switch. BUT! Be forewarned, once they become toddlers they are like tiny destructive monsters and the flimsy Switch dock would be an easy target for…
Are you me? I have been staring longingly at Mario for the Switch and sighing deeply. The wife feels that the various consoles we have around the house are plenty and I don’t need one. I counter with but those can’t play Odyssey. She counters with a certain look. I back off and try again later.
I did finally buckle and buy the Steelbook Dual edition of Pokemon Ultras, my first journey to the Alola Region (and first Pokemon game since X/Y), but that’s going under the tree, so I won’t be talking about it for some time yet.
All of the discussion surrounding the latest Pokemon editions has kinda made me glad I waited until Pokemon Moon to get started in it. I’m on the third island and, while the sheen has worn off to an extent, I still think it’s easy to pick up and play. It’s been in and out of my 3DS lately because of so many other…
This weekend I’ll be trying the Endless Space 2 free weekend. It’s on sale for 50% off, too, so if I enjoy it enough I’ll pick it up. I haven’t really sat down and dug into it yet, but it’s aesthetically a big step up from the already nice-looking earlier Endless games. I will say that the interface is maybe a bit too…
Thanksgiving with friends? That sounds nice. I wonder what it is like.
A new character dropped into ARMS this week, so I’ll be trying to learn his ins-and-outs. He’s a lot different than what I’m used to playing, but his power-switching gameplay is something that I’ve been a fan of in lots of games before. There’s also a Splatfest in Splatoon 2, so I’ll try to devote some time to support…
I’ve also tried to finish Wolfenstein: TNO again this weekend. I’m about halfway through, and I’ll say without spoiling that as many people have fawned about, the story is just that good. Not just, ‘oh it’s Wolfenstein what a surprise’ but in the grand scheme of stories told in video games good.
Made enough progress in Hyrule Warriors to see that the irritating Gohma fight seems to have been an anomaly- the next big monster they drag out is a much more interesting challenge.
What am I playing this weekend? DOOM, is what. I just grabbed the Switch version, along with Wolfenstein: the New Order (and “The Old Blood”* along with it). I’ll probably play a bit in handheld mode, but it’s kind of just exciting to see a hyper-violent id Software game on Nintendo hardware. I also “eagerly” await…
Salutations~
Won’t be playing anything this weekend cause I’m going on one of those filthy outdoor activities. However, I took the day off Monday to recuperate so I will be continuing with Wolfenstein: The Old Blood or starting up a new game, maybe Horizon: Zero Dawn?
Agreed that the 50cc and mushrooms worked as well as it did, and the racing was still pretty close. Thanks for coming out and whipping all of us! It makes any victory I manage all the sweeter...
First, thanks to Matt for helping to spread the word for Mario Kart 8 on the 8th this week and for everyone that came out! My nephews came over and swapped as the Guest on my machine with everyone, and they had a lot of fun racing with everyone. I thought the racing was great, frankly, and so help me M…
Oh I don’t doubt that, I just can’t get through the first playthrough. Haven’t played a horror game since Eternal Darkness with its ridiculous jump scare (if you’ve played it you know the one).
Which of course is the big problem with the horror game genre. Many of us love the idea of a hardcore horror game and want the genre to be successful, but we don’t feel like actually playing them (in my case because even more than a hardcore horror fan I’m a hardcore chickenshit, watching a 90-120 minute horror movie…
Haha right, everyone I know that has played the game tells me it is exhausting and seriously terrifying. I want to play it one day but I’m very much in a ‘play-to-relax’ place at the moment so I don’t know if I would ever actually put it on
Not to be dismissive of Super Mario Odyssey, where i will still be collecting moons for the foreseeable future. But what are the chances we actually get a Mario sequel (or Zelda, for that matter) on the Switch?
EVERYONE! MARIO KART 8 ON THE 8TH IS NOT DEAD!
