It's a metaphor for the human race at large that most people prefer the completely irritating first half of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN to the sort-of-okay second half.

I think it's pretty clear that she has spent time observing the sort of characters depicted on her TV show. When she steps outside of that box and does it well (LENA DUNHAM'S THE COLOR PURPLE!), I'll agree that she's more than a nominal talent.

Or maybe it's because Lena friggin' Dunham is calling people fake intellectuals for not listening to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Yes, I'm sure Stephen Hawking and Ursula Le Guin are jamming to "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "Firework" every night.

I didn't watch it, and don't know the guy well enough to defend or criticize him.

"…multi-character sketch comedy may not be in Dunham’s wheelhouse."

But strangely, it's the most Superunknown-sounding tune on that album.

This would be a more interesting concept if it remained an airplane exclusive forever.

The thing with Superunknown is it actually is a terrific album, on top of the radio hits. It's far weirder and more exciting than "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman" let on, and as '90s alt rock goes, yeah, it's a landmark.

Well, I do have a strong opinion on it. It's Dunham covering her ass
(no literal meaning intended) in a completely obvious way. GIRLS has become the most insecure show on television. Half of it is now Dunham and co. trying to placate online critics, from admonishing character privilege in verbal putdowns, to racial

And the characters have now fully crossed-over from unlikable to uninteresting.

CHIM CHIM, motherfucker!

So all black people sound the same, huh? And I suppose Hootie's real name is Laurence Fishburne!

Yes, Fishbone would likely not appeal to someone who DVRs VH1 classic multiple times a week.
