Talking of "holes in the record" is kind of silly anyway, because every time a hole is filled with a missing link, 2 more "holes" are formed either side of the newly found link. That's just maths though and the logical end point to that process would have to be mapping the family tree for every single individual thing…

I doubt your percentages (at least in modern society). I think it is often used nowadays to prod people like you into negative reactions. i.e. people often use it now simply to be shocking. I'm sure it's used way more by real Nazis than the sort of person I just described, but your percentage is hyperbolic.
